fashion trends and ad campaigns

Fashion takes a turn to the ’70s with chic, modern silhouettes that strike the balance between office and off-duty.
Designers channel the 1970s’ spirit of revolution to change the status quo. After seasons of skinny jeans and androgyny, Spring’s new look takes cues from American sportswear's chic sophistication. A clean palette with tailored yet relaxed silhouettes marks a decided turning point in style.

Tom Ford Spring 2011 Preview In Vogue December 2010

Tom Ford hates fashion democracy. That much is clear to me. Only 100 chosen lucky ones got to see the Tom Ford Spring 2011 runway show. No cameras were allowed but one – Terry Richardson’s. The collection will officially debut for us mere mortals next month on Tom Ford’s website.

Holding out on magazines until December paid off for Tom Ford. Ford’s collection was already featured in a dedicated Vogue December 2010 editorial, but I have the feeling that the forthcoming W Magazine’s Tom Ford editorial is going to be my favorite.
“Major Tom” is the new Tom Ford editorial featured in W Magazine January 2011 issue. Ford’s new Spring 2011 collection is of course showcased, alongside an interview, in a photoshoot by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Madin, modeled by Lara Stone.
In the interview Tom Ford opens up about the women who inspired his collection:
About Daphne Guinness: “Daphne is about structure, so the most important thing is that her dress is corseted and shows off her incredible figure. She is also not a shrinking violet and can pull off fashion looks that many would be afraid of. I wanted her to have one of the most dramatic looks in the show.”
About Rachel Feinstein: “Every time I see Rachel, I am dazzled by her smile, and I think about color. Rachel is all about color.”
About Karen Elson: “Karen in such an exotic beauty, I always love dressing her in color that plays off her skin tome and hair color.”
About Lou Doillon: “Lou is young and has an amazing body. She was the perfect person to wear a catsuit-Le smoking.”
W Magazine January 2011 issue hits the newsstands December 21st. Pick it up!

Versace spring 2011 ad campaign with January Jones

Versace Spring 2011 ad campaign starring January Jones reveals a nude Jones with her “Mad Men” 60′s character hair with nothing but a handbag and pair of heels.
The campaign shot by Mario Testino is a minimalist black and white resembling Givenchy Spring 2011 campaign (shot by Mert and Marcus) in aesthetic.
